TOURIST VISA
Tourist Visa is available to citizens of all countries except ECOWAS Nationals who do not require visa to visit Nigeria and other countries which Nigeria has entered into Visa Abolition Agreements.
Eligibility:
Foreign travellers who wish to visit Nigeria for the purpose of tourism, visiting family and friends.
Requirements:
- Valid International Passport (With at least 6 Months Validity) and at least two (2) blank visa pages for endorsement (non-Rwandan passport holders must have a Rwandan resident permit).
- Two Passport Photographs (45mm x 35mm).
- Photocopies of the following pages of applicant’s International Passport:
- Data Page.
- Passport Page containing Residence Permit (for non-Rwandans).
- Proof of Payment of Non-refundable Visa Fee applicable to applicant’s nationality.
- Letter of Invitation from invitee (either a Nigerian or a Foreigner with a valid Nigerian Resident Permit.
- Copy of data page of valid International Passport of invitee and valid Nigerian Resident Permit (for Foreigners).
- Return Flight Booking.
- Copy of Yellow Fever Vaccination Card.
- Evidence of sufficient fund for duration of visit (bank statement for the last 3 months).
- Evidence of hotel reservation/host address in Nigeria.
Kindly note that the Visa Officer may request for additional information, where necessary.

VISA-FREE ENTRY FOR RWANDAN NATIONALS
The Federal Government of Nigeria is pleased to announce the implementation of a 30-day visa-free entry arrangement for citizens of the Republic of Rwanda holding valid ordinary, official or diplomatic passports.
Under this arrangement, eligible Rwandan nationals may travel to Nigeria without obtaining a visa prior to departure, provided that their stay in Nigeria does not exceed thirty (30) days.
Permitted Purposes of Travel
The visa-free entry arrangement applies to lawful short-term visits, including:
- Tourism
- Business meetings
- Conferences and events
- Official engagements
- Family visits
- Transit purposes
Entry Requirements
Travellers may be requested by Nigerian Immigration authorities to present:
- A valid Rwandan passport with at least six months validity;
- Return or onward travel ticket;
- Evidence of sufficient funds where applicable;
- Accommodation details or invitation letter where necessary; and
- Compliance with applicable health and immigration regulations.
Important Information
Please note that:
- The visa-free stay is strictly limited to thirty (30) days;
- The arrangement does not permit employment or long-term residence in Nigeria;
- Persons intending to study, work, reside, or remain beyond thirty (30) days must obtain the appropriate Nigerian visa;
- Extensions beyond the approved visa-free period are subject to Nigerian immigration regulations.
Applicants requiring long-term stay visas may apply through the Nigeria High Commission in Kigali or via the official Nigeria e-Visa platform.
